About Our Animal Hospital and Employment

Lake Shore Pet Hospital is a new veterinary practice that opened in July 2016 in Pasadena, MD.  Lake Shore Pet Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital offering digital diagnostic imaging (Radiography, Dental Radiography, and Ultrasound), computerized medical records, a full in-house diagnostic laboratory, and laser therapy to name a few.  We are committed to providing the highest quality veterinary care, exceptional client service, and being an active part of the community we serve.

Associate Veterinarian, Full-Time/Part-Time

We’re looking for a full-time or part-time associate veterinarian for our growing practice, conveniently located near Baltimore and Annapolis, MD. Our facility offers a full diagnostic in-house laboratory, digital radiography, high-speed dental, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, acupuncture, and much more.

Primary Responsibilities

As an associate veterinarian, you will perform a wide range of functions to keep your patients happy and healthy. These include:

  • Ensuring overall health, diagnosis, and treatment of pets
  • Using diagnostic equipment such as in-house laboratory and digital X-ray equipment to identify the cause of an illness Conducting regular medical examinations
  • Prescribing medications
  • Administering inoculations
  • Performing surgeries
  • Immunize pets to protect them from disease
  • Ensuring all surgical standards are met in accordance with best practices
  • Microchipping
  • Collecting blood, urine, fecal, and tissue samples for diagnosis
  • Applying splints or casts to immobilize bone fractures
  • Executing quarantine processes to prevent the spread of disease among pets

Additional Responsibilities

  • Proper documentation of pets’ medical records in a timely manner
  • Offering recommendations to pet owners on how to feed, clean, and care for their pets
  • Communicating with other veterinarians and animal care professionals to develop effective treatment plans
  • Educating the public on ways to avoid/prevent the spread of zoonotic diseases

Requirements

  • Doctorate in veterinary medicine required
  • Must hold and maintain a current Maryland Veterinary License in good standing
  • Hold and maintain Accreditation, DEA License, and Maryland Controlled Substance License
  • Must maintain Professional and Personal Liability insurance

Skills

  • Be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with clients and/or staff
  • Be able to implement treatment plans and effectively address animal health problems
  • Be able to determine the best course of treatment for different kinds of ailments
  • Be proficient with both PC and Mac computer operating systems

Veterinary Technician/Assistant

We’re looking for a full-time or part-time Veterinary Technician for our growing practice, conveniently located near Baltimore and Annapolis, MD. Our facility o?ers a full diagnostic in-house laboratory, digital radiography, high-speed dental, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, acupuncture, and much more.

The hourly rate is negotiable and based on experience. Full-time bene?ts include paid time o?, health insurance, retirement, Wellness Care and Discount for employee-owned pets, reimbursement for licensing fees, and Continuing Education for Registered Technicians, among others which are detailed in our Employee Handbook.

Necessary skills include:

  • Animal restraint (able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted)
  • Ability to communicate clearly with sta? and clients

  • Enthusiasm for working with both animals and their families
  • Desire/willingness to participate in community activities with a team outside of work

Responsibilities

  • Answering phones, client interaction, documenting medical notes
  • Patient restraint and taking a complete medical history and providing client education
  • Assisting in performing physical exams
  • Collect and prepare samples for diagnostic tests (both in-house and for submission to the reference lab)
  • Administering oral and injectable medications and performing medical treatments
  • Licensed technicians must have the ability to induce and monitor anesthesia.
  • Veterinary Technicians and Assistants must have the ability to perform dental cleanings, place IV catheters and administer treatments for hospitalized patients.

Customer Service Representative

We’re looking for a full-time or part-time Customer Service Representative for our growing practice, conveniently located near Baltimore and Annapolis, MD.
