Ken Butcher, DVM
Veterinarian
“Dr. Ken” is from Thousand Oaks, California. He served 8 years in the Navy as a Submarine Torpedoman deployed in the Pacific, and on the NSW/NSO Scout Team in Los Angeles. After separating and while completing his bachelors he worked part-time as a kennel assistant, where he found the love and fulfillment that comes with working with animals, motivating him to become a veterinarian. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from American Military University, his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University, and completed his clinical year at Lincoln Memorial University. His special interests in veterinary medicine are radiology, pharmacology, surgery, and he is a strong proponent of evidence-based medicine. If you see him running around, it's because he’s going out of his way to play with every puppy and kitten that comes in the clinic.
At home, along with his wife and son, his zoo consists of 6 animals: his crazy Australian Shepherd, Milo; his cat Fiona; and his four-member chinchilla family, Remington Steele and Mamma June, and their boys Harry and Lloyd. Outside of work, Dr. Ken enjoys cooking, working out, and wrestling his wife, son, and many animals for a spot on the couch.
